Hey folks! After years of wrestling with Terraform’s state management at scale, we asked ourselves: “What if we could completely reimagine how IaC should work in 2024?” The pain points were clear:

• State file locks blocking parallel deployments

• Growing state files becoming unwieldy

• Teams waiting on each other to apply changes

• Accidental resource deletions in large changesets So we built Mantis - bringing task-based workflows to IaC. Think ‘make’ for infrastructure, with independent state management per task. We’ve written about why we need this approach and how it works technically: https://getmantis.ai/blog/how_mantis_iac_works If you’ve hit similar walls with Terraform, would love to hear your thoughts.

Breaking Through Terraform's Ceiling: A New Approach to IaC State Management | Mantis

The industry is at the cross roads with AI-led code generation. The options are to either proliferate tech-debt and push ourselves into a rabbit hole or use this opportunity to rethink our approach, and build next-generation solutions that remove bottle-necks in cloud usage.

I’m liking this. It’s not a bad way to roll. It’s nice having everything “just-work”

Does anyone have a spreadsheet comparing the various data protection and security compliance frameworks and regulations? I used to have a good one but it’s gone away at some point.

There’s open source ones available. https://securecontrolsframework.com/scf-download/

Ah, those look great. The capability maturity model is nice. Many of the fine notes across regulations are: “Insufficient organizational or technical capabilities”.
