[Hiring] [Global] [Remote]

We provide DevOps solutions for a variety of customers with open roles across a few of them. These clients are largely unsophisticated and their infrastructure is not scaling smoothly.

The work will focus on diving into the client systems to become the "expert" so that we can share and implement best practices. The ability to dive in and learn quickly is the most important characteristic we're looking for.

Right now, our largest client is focused on big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Presto. The tooling is in Ruby, Python, and Go. The stack is a mixture of Kubernetes and some older Chef-based environments. We are in the beginning phases of re-platforming to kubernetes. The role will be a mix of that (sprint based) and acting as escalation for issues relating to the platform "as we do the re-platform". The shop still runs while we transform it! The idea being we get exposure to real problems so that we can better design the correct solution.

We don't expect anyone to be an expert in any of those technologies, but a deep DevOps/SRE background and a willingness to learn is critical.

We're currently looking for folks who are passionate about the work, learning and elevating themselves. We are looking for folks to work in APAC, EMEA and US timezones.

Please send your CV to [email protected] -- please include your compensation expectations, your location and preferred working timezone.

Looking for new opportunities, figure this isn’t a bad place to look. I’ve been working in DevOps for about 8 years, primarily in AWS utilizing various container technologies, including Kubernetes. I’m especially good at building out new systems and modernizing existing ones, with a focus towards working with developers to identify and remove pain points to speed up the primary dev/test feedback loop and get better code into production faster.

You can find my resume on my website at https://millergeek.xyz/resume. If you’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to handle your infrastructure and drive a DevOps culture at your organization, please send me a DM here on Slack or use this contact form.

Hi @Kostas Bratanis I looked hard but could not find anything about junior/student/beginner level, looks like you are seriously looking for EU residents with the mentioned skills and expect them to work for a daily rate of 300 EUR - if they are more experienced?

Kostas Bratanis avatar
Kostas Bratanis

Hi Hakan, thanks for the feedback. Yes, within EU. Based on the experience we have with this client, they are looking for mid level .NET serverless developers. Prior experience is with Azure is nice to have. If I was to name the role, it will be more of .NET Serverless Developer , instead of Azure Cloud Engineer.. which usually refers to a more DevOps oriented role.

Kostas Bratanis avatar
Kostas Bratanis

For more experienced people maybe we can discuss with the client. If you’re interested PM me. Thanks.

hkaya avatar

I can hardly imagine you’d find any kind of mid level developer within the EU at this rate, regardless of the role.

Kostas Bratanis

Who knows, we will see how it plays out.

hkaya avatar

usually it goes like this: you get what you pay for. Another question: your website does not have any indication about your location, jurisdiction, legal details whatsoever. I thought there were at least some requirements for EU based companies regarding transparency?
