Oooh, nice example of Sankey Diagrams in the wild.
This Sankey diagram visualizes the flow of energy: supplies are on the left, and demands are on the right. Links show how varying amounts of energy are converted or transmitted before being consumed or lost. Data: Department of Energy & Climate Change via Tom Counsell
recently I don’t feel I need a job, I need technologies
I just need to be able to keep paying my personal AWS bill. Contributing to Terraform is expensive.
we need a lot of money. so that we can do what we want to do.

Hey everyone! I’m the founder of a GDPR-compliant intent mapping platform that uses second-party data to power revenue attribution and analytics. I’ve got a mockup here and parts of the implementation are already started.
So I’m looking for an US-Based principal-level MVP advisor to help with the final implementation, using analytics.js
for and either cookies, fingerprinting, or and identity graph for visitor identification which will allow us to attribute events to contacts across partner ecosystems. This is just an advisory role, so it’ll likely involve some type of equity arrangement. I already have customers lined up and a solid business plan for moving forward.
Some key things I’m looking for:
- You have used
analytics.js
or Segment - You understand tradeoffs for different visitor identification methods
- You are Javascript and Golang saavy
- You understand the underlying use-case and approach
- You have decent architectural chops
Also, to clarify when I say MVP advisor, I mean that I’m pretty technical myself and don’t need someone to implement the entire platform. I’m looking for someone to consult on architectural aspects and team up on areas I may not feel totally saavy enough to tackle. So please do not reach out of you aren’t at least Senior level and can contribute to the overarching design conversation while also helping to pair up on tough features.

hey @venkata.mutyala - good catch … I should have added that.
It is paid.
Some logistically info:
Pay Range: $25-35 (for US) / location based (for outside US)
Location: Anywhere (remote)
tbh this range is hard to hire a productive engineer so I would guess this is more like a promotion
@Hao Wang … this is for an Intern* position. At 40hrs/week - it is between 4k$/month to 5.6k$/month.
I obviously cannot say if this is good or bad. But this is what we can afford today. And we have made an honest effort with hopes to get help, and shape a students’ career.
TBH, It’s very disappointing to see your message today. Startups are hard, and when we try to make it work - with good intentions - we hear negative opinions. It’s good to have opinions, but when opinions translate into wrong assumptions .. it is simply wrong. I welcome your thoughts - but I challenge them.
I would be surprized if you pay your interns more than 1.5 times that. From my knowledge even top companies don’t go beyond that.
How is this even a promotion? Why would I try to pormote my HR startup in a DevOps channel? I must ask what you were on or what were you thinking when you sent this message (again no extrapolation here - just a thought).
cc (admins): @Erik Osterman (Cloud Posse) / @nian / @Andriy Knysh (Cloud Posse) / @Andy Miguel ^ not sure what your policy on “free speech” is .. but a few rules would help avoid negative comments like this.
I am trying to say people’s lives are hard, you should raise the bar to pay more
why you only hire interns?
that is suspicious
btw promoting a business is valid in this channel
next time, when you highlighted Engineering
please also highlight interns
Please you don’t need a devops or cloud intern?
This is the point I feel a bit suspicious, why a company is looking for dev engineers in a devops channel… give me a devops engineer position first
I am not looking for opportunities but just to speak out my gut feelings
@Hao Wang - I would challenge to start your startup and raise the pay bar for everyone. Your assesment of startup economics are simplistic, out of line and irrelevant.
Regarding “why you only hire interns” -> At this stage we have a need for small tasks, and I believe interns are best suited for this. Hiring a senior engineer comes with a lot of responsibilities. It requires a strong career direction, for which you need a strong product market fit (and funds). It’s really bad on your part to make demands like “hire non-interns”. It’s also stupid.
Also “people’s lives are hard” -> trust me I have been there. There are people having hardships everywhere. I wish I had god like powers to solve this problem. I am trying to do my part - piece by piece. It’s really ignorant of you to justify your thoughts - and demanding to raise the pay. I have transparently added a pay - to help ppl who are interested in applying. If you are not - you have all the right to NOT apply.
Regarding “I feel a bit suspicious, why a company is looking for dev engineers in a devops channel” -> what is suspicious? A true DevOps engineer is a quasi developer and a quasi operations engineer. The goal of a DevOps engineer is to develop tools and systems to remove operational overload. At the heart of it - a DevOps engineer is an amplified Dev (not an amplified Ops)! This slack channel is filled with awesome developers .. who understand this piece. I am surprised to see someone who doesn’t understand DevOps here.
Regarding “I am not looking for opportunities but just to speak out my gut feelings” -> I really think you should think before you type .. it sucks to have to respond to people who are not in their right frame of mind.
@Hao Wang - Please learn to read my job post. It’s quite clear! I mention intern
multiple times. Read thoroughly before you allow your gut to take over.
next time, when you highlighted Engineering
please also highlight interns
@adeolayomadesamuel - I am not hiring a DevOps intern. I am actually opening up a fulltime position for DevOps / SRE next month. If you believe you will be interested in that - you can send over your details to [email protected]
You may want to update here as well to show the same highlights as you mentioned, why didn’t you hire a devops engineer in a devops community first?! This doesn’t make sense. And as a founder why you challenge a person who is not interested in being a founder to build a company? I would also challenge you to be more patient to your team as a kind founder as well LOL
wow ^ thats quite vengeful. I have only seen people being super supportive of startups. This is a little extra.
I wish you well …
