Just saw in terraform-aws-ecs-alb-service-task/releases that significant changes are coming to how security groups are handled. Wondering if there’s any document describing that change? I’m curious to know the rationale behind it so I can be prepared as changes are made!
Yes the sg module is being refactored again and an early merge of a previous refactor has caused a few repos to be in a code freeze

Just a general question, which is the best laptop for a devops role?

I think next September they will release a new M model, so you may wait

90% of devops cli apps will be easily installed and updated using brew on macOS, so that’s a killer feature for me, and also the integration with Docker, and local k8s clusters like minikube and micro, and the killer performance from the m chip and long battery life.
just get the 16 GB of RAM model
What about the Docker performance? Is still running through a VM?
I love my System 76 Oryx Pro with Ubuntu. I used to have a mac, but found myself doing so much to make it more like linux that when it died I made the switch.
I think they fixed the docker on M1, and @bradym I always dream about system 76, but can’t get hands on one
I would like to try System76, but I live in Canada and shipping/warranty might be an issue. I had so many problems with Razer regarding sending back to the US for repairs.
@Mohammed Yahya, not sure if it is a CPU problem. iirc, it was more regarding the kernel on the MacOS than anything else. Thus, I don’t think that they solved it yet. But, I might be wrong.
I would stay away from the m1 until more tools have updated to use it
It works for most things but it’s not there yet. Give it at least 6 more months to a year
